For this natural brush cleaning technique, you only need a few ingredients-most of which you may already be at home.

Start making your DIY cleaner with a cup of warm water in a bowl, don't get too hot, because that will loosen the bristles. 

Then add a tablespoon of natural detergent to remove oil and makeup from the brush. Next, you will need 1/2 cup of witch hazel because it acts as a disinfectant.

To start the cleaning process, spin the brush in the solution, then remove the excess liquid, rinse and repeat as needed. 

Lay the clean brush flat or hang it upside down to dry. You should avoid letting the brush stand upright and dry, as this will cause water to seep into the base. 

If you can, stick to this cleaning routine every day, especially foundation brushes or anything that comes in contact with your eyes. However, once a week is a good start.
