To be honest, the so-called impeachment proceedings – so-called because the legal question on the status of the parliamentary committee is still to be settled – is about the most farcical process since 2015 when an ad hoc committee was formed to investigate the more than R246 million worth of so-called security upgrades at former president Jacob Zuma’s Nkandla homestead in northern KwaZulu-Natal.
