WHAT do you do if you get bored on a plane?

Well, one woman had an idea for how to kill some time on her way to her holiday destination - painting her nails.

Sarah took to her TikTok page to share a video of her giving herself a glam manicure on the plane, as she captioned it: "Had lots of time to kill."

"Paint my nails with me on a plane," she wrote over the video.

But it wasn't any nail polish she was using.

Instead, she was seen using a nail tool to paint on a pink and green artsy pattern, before plugging in her UV nail lamp and putting in each talon at a time.

By the time the plane landed in Barcelona, she had a perfect manicure - all ready for her vacation.

In the comments section on her video, everyone was asking the same questions - whether the nail varnish smell was bothering other passengers, and how she was allowed to take the polish on the aircraft.

"That's such a good use of that dead time! Does the smell not bother other passengers at all? That would be my only fear," one person wrote.

"Gel doesn’t have that polish smell like regular polish!" Sarah replied.

"And same lolol I was asking my fiance every 30 sec if he could smell anything."

"Why does this feel illegal but Ik it’s not," another added.

With Sarah answering: "LMAOOO I felt like I was doing something illegal, had to fight the urge to hide everything whenever someone walked past."

She also added in pinned comments on the video: "Just to clarify for repeat comments- TSA let me thru with this in my carry on.

"Gel polishes made recently are non-flammable & don’t have a smell/fumes like regular polishes, and not a single FA who walked past me commented.

"Regular polish definitely should NOT be used on planes, but gel does not carry the same hazards."

However, one person hit back, writing: "From a flight crew advised. This is definitely not allowed.

"It’s flammable and it puts in danger your life as well as the other passengers."

When Sarah repeated her comment about the TSA (Transport Standards Authority) allowing her to take the polish on the plane, the flight assistant replied: "It’s not only about the nail polish but the machine you are using.

"You are aware we use oxygen inflight. Is not convenient to have things that could cause sparks or fire in any type, shape or form.

"It’s not safe for you and those around you."

While another flight attendant added: "Lol I’m a flight attendant this is a huge no no - you’re not allowed to do this on a plane."
