Velveeta Releases Cheese-Scented Nail Polish from Nails Inc. | Food & Wine

If you've ever been halfway through a bowl of Velveeta Shells and Cheese, dipped your finger into the gooey cheese sauce, and briefly thought that shade of yellow looked great on your nails, then you're in luck. Velveeta has announced the launch of its first-ever nail polish collection, with two colors that are based on its signature cheese product and the bold "Velveeta" lettering that decorates its packaging.

The limited-edition nail polish duo is the result of a collaboration between Velveeta and London-based beauty brand Nails.INC. The "Velveeta Pinkies Out Polish Collection" includes two summer-worthy colors: a deep yellow called "La Dolce Velveeta" and a bright red called "Finger Food." The two-polish set retails for $15 and is available exclusively on the Nails.INC website. Both nail polishes are vegan and cruelty-free and, as an added bonus, they both smell like cheese. ("Please don't eat it — that's what cheesy, melty Velveeta is for," Nails.INC warns.)

"Velveeta is known for its rich, creamy texture and cheesy, melty goodness, so what better way to bring this to life for our fans than with something equally as rich and creamy — nail polish," Kelsey Rice, a senior brand communications manager at the Kraft Heinz Company, said in a statement. "Our Velveeta Pinkies Out Polish gives pleasure seekers everywhere an irresistible new way to show the world that they are living 'La Dolce Velveeta' by living pinkies out."

If you'd like to show off your love for Velveeta's cheesy goodness but aren't ready to commit to a full cheese-themed manicure, then you can also swoop a package of Nails.INC x Velveeta "That's La Dolce Velveeta" nail stickers. The $4.99 sticker set, which is available on Amazon, features temporary nail decals that look like mini-shells, a fingertip's worth of melted Velveeta cheese, and the words "Drip" and "Creamy."

Velveeta isn't the only food brand to take a surprising detour into beauty products. In the past few months, Los Angeles beauty brand HipDot has released makeup collabs with Cup Noodles and Girl Scout cookies, while Chipotle launched its own guac-inspired eyeshadow palette with e.l.f. Cosmetics. But maybe the most unexpected release was Oscar Mayer's bologna sheet mask, which was exactly that: a hydrating facial mask that looked like you'd chewed a pair of eye holes out of a slice of O.M.'s own bologna.

A set of Velveeta-scented nails is obviously the perfect accompaniment for… any of that. And there's something oddly satisfying about perfectly coordinating with your next bowl of Shells and Cheese.
