AS the colder months creep in, there's nothing better than having a nice hearty meal to tuck into.

And it's even more appealing if it's super quick and easy to make...

A home cook named Ashlea, who posts under the acronym @ashleas_kitchen, has taken to TikTok to share her simple roast chicken pie recipe - and it's made entirely in the Air Fryer.

In the video, she begins: "I start off by popping some oil on my chicken, give it a rub and then I wash my hands and add some salt and pepper to the skin to make it nice and crispy.

"I then add that to the Air Fryer, breast-side down, I then put it on Air Fry mode at 200°C for 30 minutes."

While that's cooking, Ashlea sets to work on the mouthwatering filling.

"I chop up a whole punnet of button mushrooms," she says. "I then cut up some spring onions also.

"Then I add them to the second basket tray of the Air Fryer and I put a big dollop of butter in and give it a stir.

"I put that on Air Fry mode also at 200°C for five minutes."

Ashlea then turns her chicken around and puts it back in for another 30 minutes - making it an hour in total.

Turning her attention back to her mushroom filling, Ashlea adds some flour to thicken it up, a chicken stock and some water.

After popping it back in the Air Fryer, she then puts in a spoonful of English mustard and a dollop of crème fraîche.

Next, she shreds the chicken and pops it into a dish, before mixing it with the filling.
